ACTIVATOR
METHOD
The
Activator Method of chiropractic analysis is a gentile low-force spinal
adjusting technique which utilizes specific protocols to detect spinal joint
dysfunctions. Through the analysis
of leg length inequality, body mechanics and neurological testing the doctor
can initiate the process of restoring spinal stability. Using the Activator Adjusting
instrument a controlled, fast thrust adjustment is delivered to the patient.

COX FLEXION
DISTRACTION
The
Cox Flexion/Distraction adjustive procedure and specially designed table uses a
distractive force (doctors hand position) combined with table motion. The
special table is designed to help restore physiological range of motion to
injured spinal joints. The Cox
Technique of Flexion-Decompression manipulation is gentle, non force adjusting
procedure which works with the body’s natural design to help restore nerve
function as it decreases pressure to the spine.
Additional
goals of the Cox Technique adjustment are to transfer metabolites into the
spinal disc, decompress inflamed/compressed spinal nerve roots and reduce
intradiscal pressure.

CRANIAL
ADJUSTMENT
A
cranial adjustment involves the doctor positioning his hands on the patient‘s
cranium, which allows him to tune into the craniosacral system. He gently works
with the fascia, spine and cranial
sutures, In this way, the
restrictions of nerve passages are eased, the movement of cerebrospinal fluid
through the spinal cord is optimized and misaligned bones are restored to their
proper position. The doctor uses this therapy to treat mental stress, neck and
back pain, migraines, TMJ Syndrome, and other chronic conditions.

EXTREMITY
ADJUSTING
Extremity
adjustments are chiropractic adjustments to joints that are not contained in
the spine. These would include jaw
(tmj problems) shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, finger, hip, knee, ankle and foot. Like the spine these extremities
develop joint dysfunction which describes a joint that has reduced motion,
abnormal muscle tone, inflammation, scar tissue or arthritic changes.
Common
names for some joint dysfunctions include, “carpal tunnel syndrome“, “tennis
elbow“, “little league elbow“, “frozen shoulder“, “runner knee“, “golfers
elbow”, and a host of others. In
all cases, Chiropractic Care takes a natural and common sense approach for
treatment. Extremity adjustments
are a type of joint mobilization similar to that of spinal adjusting, with the
goal being, to restore normal motion to areas which have been “locked up”. Once restoration of motion has
been returned to the extremity there is often a reduction in pain, improved
motion, relaxed muscles, reduced nerve interference and promotion of healing.

FULL SPINE
DIVERSIFIED
Full
Spine Diversified Adjustment is one of the most widely used forms of
manipulation/adjustment in chiropractic.
The focus is on restoration to normal biomechanical function, and
correction of subluxations through a high velocity, low amplitude thrust that
usually results in a cavitation of a joint (popping noise).
This
manual adjustment technique allows for specificity in correcting mechanical
distortions of the spine. The Full
Spine/Diversified technique helps create motion in spinal joints with the
ultimate goals of restoring structure and function.

SACRO-OCCIPITAL
TECHNIQUE (SOT)
The
Sacro Occipital Technique, as practiced by Dr. Cohen, establishes a logical
structure for the diagnosis and treatment of health problems. The technique
recognizes that an individual can subluxate and can become anchored in three
distinct, but interconnected, systems of the body. Each of the three categories
in the Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) chiropractic approach has its own
symptomatology with specific indicators for correction.

THOMPSON
TERMINAL POINT TECHNIQUE (THOMPSON DROP TABLE)
Thompson
Technique utilizes the “Leg Length System” which is based on the work of Dr.
Deerfield. Dr. Deerfield advocated that the basis of many health problems in
the musculoskeletal system could be traced to the length of the legs and how
the body compensates in its position and balance while weight bearing. Leg length discrepancy is determined by
having the patient lie on special table, legs in extended position, while the
chiropractor determines whether the legs are out of balance.
The Thompson Technique is performed on a special drop table. The patient's own body weight is used to exert a force on the table to make the adjustment. Varying amounts of pressure of the joints initiate the drop piece motion, which in turn affects the muscle and joints.
